Oktapus, not Octopus

The hacker group that goes by the name Oktapus, Octo Tempest, or if you like Scattered Spider came up recently when I was looking into something else, but it may be connected?

I'm not sure why, but something tells me that, and I almost seem certain but of course I could be mistaken?

I may have taken on a real hacker this time in a chess tournament, but I'm not sure if it was Oktapus?
